Pulling Pints For Nearly 20 Years
The Baskerville is owned and run by the Hannah family who took over the pub in 2002. Allan and Kate Hannah handed over the reins to their son Kevin and his wife Kate (another Kate Hannah!) in 2012 who are our friendly, hands-on management team. Since the recent passing of Allan, a pillar of the Shiplake community, Kevin is now director of The Baskerville, along with his mother Kate. Kevin is supported by his deputy manager Sophie and their team of young energetic individuals.
Original License Application Notice
Taken from the Henley and South Oxfordshire Standard in 1936 regarding the original planning.
“It has been agreed by the licencing authority at Henley that there is a definite need for a fully licenced premises because of the size of the village and because there were no other licenced premises within nearly one mile except for the off licence opposite… The proposed house will not be in any sense an ordinary type of public house but would be more in the nature of a private hotel”
