Amber colour with fragrant, fruity, lemony nose with a hint of sherry. Fuller, firm body that develops on the palate from a sherryish start through a cereal grain grassiness to flowery, fruity, lemony notes with an assertive finish.
Glenkinchie - 10 year old
Gold colour with a soft aromatic nose of lemon grass, sweet lemons and melons. Light but rounded body. Soft spicy palate of cinnamon, demerara and ginger with a dry, oaky, spicy and fragrant finish.

Highland Park 12 year old
Amber colour that has a smoky garden bonfire sweetness of heather, malt and a hint of sherry to the nose. Medium, smooth body, a succulent palate with smoky dryness, heather-honeyed sweetness and maltiness. Delicious, teasing, heathery finish.
Isle of Jura 10 year old
Bright gold colour with an oily, lightly piny, earthy, salty, dry nose. Soft, light, slightly oily body that is sweetish, malty and oily palate developing a slight island dryness and saltiness. A little malty sweetness in its finish with some saltiness.
Scapa
A bright full gold colour with a softer, warm hay nose. Light, smooth, salty body giving a clean sweetish palate with vanilla, nuts and salt. Late salt and pepper finish with a hint of peat.
Talisker - 10 year old
Bright amber-red in colour it has a rounded, pungent, smoke-accented nose and a full, slightly syrupy body. Smoky, malty-sweet with sourness on the palate it develops a very big pepperiness. Very peppery, huge and long finish.

Balblair 5 year old
White wine colour giving a fresh, slightly sharp, pear-like nose. Light body and a clove-like spiciness on the palate. Aperitif finish that briefly lingers
Cragganmore 12 year old
Golden colour with the most complex aroma of any malt. An astonishingly fragrant and delicate bouquet with sweetish notes of cut grass and herbs. Light to medium body that is very firm and smooth. Delicate, clean and restrained on the palate with a huge range of herbal, flowery notes that produce a long finish.
Glenturret 12 year old
Gold colour with a flowery, nutty nose and a light to medium, smooth body. A palate that is nutty with cereal-grain maltiness and vanilla pod becoming drier with a hint of apple. Refreshing, appetising, crisp, dry finish.
Glengoyne 10 year old
Yellowy-gold colour. Fresh and very soft nose of warm, Coxs apples, fruitiness, a rich malty dryness, a very light sherry and a touch of juicy oak. Rounded, smooth, light to medium body with a very tasty, pleasant, and clean palate suggesting grassiness, fruit with more apple notes. Still sweet slightly drying finish that is clean and appetising.
Glenmorangie 10 year old
Pale gold in colour it has a nose that is enticing, spicy (cinnamon, walnut and sandalwood) with flowery sweetness with a fresh whiff of the sea. A body on the light side of medium but with some viscosity. Long rounded finish.
Oban 14 year old
Full gold to amber colour and a nose that gives a whiff of the sea, a touch of fresh peat and some maltiness. Firm, smooth slightly viscous body with a palate that is deceptively delicate at first (perfumy with a faint hint of fruity seaweed) but then lightly way becoming smoky and dry. Aromatic, smooth appetising finish.
Royal Lochnagar 12 year old
Full gold colour with a big nose that has some smokiness. Smooth, medium to full body and a palate of light smokiness, restrained fruitiness and malty sweetness. Dry smokiness and malty sweetness in the finish that is initially dry but with a sweet malty counterpoint.

Springbank 12 year old
Walnut colour with a nose of sea air, oak and sherry. Very smooth, light to medium body being very salty and lightly oily on the palate with a very long development to passion fruit. Long lingering finish of coconut and toast.
Islay
Arbeg 10 year old
Fino sherry in colour and a nose of smoke, brine and iodine dryness. Medium to full body but very firm. A light heavyweight with a punch of a higher division. Sweet to the plate at first it becomes mean and moody. Hefty finish with lots of iodine.
Bowmore 12 year old
Amber colour and a nose of salt, seaweed and smoke. A medium body that is slightly syrupy. A complex palate of persistent sherry sweetness, spiciness, heather, seaweed and salt giving lots of flavour development. Remarkably long and salty finish.
Bunnahabhain 12 year old
Gold colour with a remarkably fresh, sweet nose and sea-air aroma. Firm, light to medium body that is gentle and clean on the palate with a nutty-malty sweetness. Very full flavour development in the finish and a refreshing quality.
Laphroig 10 year old
Full refractive gold colour and a nose that is medicinal, phenolic, and seaweedy with a hint of estery sweetness. Medium oily body; seaweedy, salty and oily plate and a round very dry finish.

Abelour 10 year old
Amber colour and a nose of malt, spice and mint toffee. Medium to full body that is remarkably soft and smooth. On the palate it has a distinctively clinging mouth-feel with long lasting flavour development of sweetness, spice, peppery dryness in its malt character and nutmeg and berry fruit. Lingering, smooth, aromatic and clean finish.
The Balvenie 10 year old
Bright gold in colour its nose is of orange-honey perfume, musky with a hint of peat. Medium bodied its honeyed sweetness dries to lightly spicy notes. Very lively with just a touch of sherry. The finish gives a tingling surge of flavours with lingering, syrupy honey.
Dalmore 12 year old
An attractive amber hue with arousing nose of orange marmalade, malt and sherry. Medium to full body that is velvet-smooth. Rich on the palate with gradual restrained flavour development. Malty sweetness, bitter-sweet orange, anise spiciness, heather, light peat and a faint hint of the salty sea. Remarkably long finish.
Dalwhinnie 15 year old
Bright gold colour with very aromatic nose that is dry, faintly phenolic and lightly peaty. A firm oily body with a palate that is remarkably smooth with long-lasting flavour development. Aromatic heather-honey notes give way to cut-grass, malty sweetness which intensifies to a sudden burst of peat. A long crescendo of a finish.
Glen Grant - 15 year old
Medium amber colour with a nose of some sherry. Light to medium body being soft, nutty, dry and sherryish on the palate. Mellow and warming finish.
Glenfarclas 10 year old
Full gold colour with a big nose that has some sherry sweetness and nuttiness but also smokiness at the back of the nose. Characteristically firm body that gives a palate that is crisp and dry at first with the flavour filling out as it develops.
Glenfiddich 15 year old
Full gold colour with a soft light nose of peat smoke. Body that is smooth and lightly creamy it also has a smooth palate of hazelnut, light cream and dry maltiness. Tasty, appetising finish with grassy notes and peat smoke.
Glen Moray 12 year old
Colour of pale gold it has a fresh, big, rounded nose that is grassy like new-mown hay with barley notes. Light but smooth and firm body it has a ripe , fat barley palate. Fresh, leafy finish with oatmeal dryness.

Full gold colour with a nose of some depth that is sweet and has a light but definite nuttiness. Medium rounded body giving a palate that is sweet to start developing into a light smoky dryness. Dryish, smooth, confident finish with lots of finesse

Full gold colour. Big, slightly oily nose with barley malt, flowery-fruity notes. Medium to big body that is smooth and rounded. Very emphatic, fresh and clean on the palate with cereal-grain maltiness and suggestions of plum skins. Very long, appetising finish of tangerines and nuts becoming peppery.

Full, deep, gold colour having a fresh nose of apricots, cereal grains and juicy oak. Medium rounded body. Rich and mouth-coating palate being sherryish and fruity followed by it sweet and dry character. Smooth and soothing finish of violets and vanilla.
The Glenlivet 12 year old
Pale gold in colour it has a remarkably flowery nose that is clean and soft. Light to medium body that is firm and smooth. Palate that is flowery and peachy with notes of vanilla striking a delicate balance between sweetness and malty dryness. Restrained finish that is long and gently warming.

Amber in colour it has a sherry and buttery nose that is also honeyish with a malt character. Lots of roundness and depth. Full body without being syrupy. Sweetish palate of lots of sherry and plenty of malt without being rich. Satisfying, malty, gingery finish becoming dry with a hint of smoke.

Full gold colour. Appetisingly, fresh, clean nose with a light malty sweetness and a hint of dry, perfumy smokiness. Soft, smooth medium body. Sweet on the palate but not overpoweringly so, that dips in the middle then develops an attractive balance of gingery, perfumy dryness. Slightly chewy finish that is nutty with very faint peat
