Winter Set Menu
Set two course lunch menu begins Tuesday 17th January. With daily changing dishes and costing £16.50 it will be available for lunch Monday to Friday and in the evening Monday to Thursday. A typical menu will be published soon on the menus tab.
New Winter A la Carte Menu
Head Chef, Marc Price introduces his new seasonal A la Carte menu on Tuesday 17th January to see you through the darker winter months with a mixture of winter warmers and old favourites. Details will be published soon on the menus tab.
Christmas Eve Carols Raise £680
Shiplake village carols which took place at the Baskerville on Christmas Eve raised £680. This will be donated equally between Shiplake Parish Church and Shiplake Prinary School. Thanks to all who took part and special thanks to Barry Barlow for providing the keyboard and sound system, postmistress Carol Harvey and her church choir colleages, Angela Jones from Shiplake School for playing the keyboards and Master of Ceremonies, Neil George.
Baskerville now listed in the AA Britain's Best Pubs 2011 The Baskerville has been listed in the prestigious AA Britain's Best Pubs 2011. As the guide says in its foreword, "Britain's Best Pubs is for anyone who enjoys eating and drinking well in formal or informal surroundings. Where Stars have been awarded, you can relax in the knowledge that accommodation has been inspected an rated by the AA." The Baskerville is one of only fifteen pubs listed for Oxfordshire.
Baskerville Homemade Ice Creams The Baskerville now offers delicious homemade ice creams. Current flavours include chocolate chip and mint, strawberry, Madagascan vanilla and Tai Maria.
All Day Food and New Bar Hours We are now open for food all day. Enjoy a late breakfast, 11.00 am -12 noon. Lunch where you can choose from our extensive menu or the set menu is from 12 noon – 2.30 pm. Between 2.30 – 6.00 pm we have a limited lunch menu but our chefs are flexible depending on how busy we are. The evening A la Carte and set menus now run from 6.00 – 9.30 pm (10.00 pm Friday and Saturdays). Please see our Opening Hours page for further details.
The Baskerville’s famous fish and chips are now available as a take away!! Fresh Icelandic haddock in crisp Loddon beer batter, hand cut chips, mushy peas, homemade tartar sauce and a lemon wedge. All boxed and ready to go. Just phone ahead with your order. Terrific value and available at all restaurant opening times.
Wine Specials We have sourced two superior wines from our suppliers at substantially discounted prices allowing our customers outstanding value. Domaine Tranquillitie 2008 Vin d Pay D'Oc. From acclaimed wine maker Bernard Megrez, this is a crossbreed between the traditional blends of Bordeaux and the Languedoc. It is a powerful black fruit, spice driven red with herbaceous complexity.

Water Aid Total Keeps on Climbing The Baskerville supports the charity Water Aid. A source of safe water is a privilege that 1.1 billion people in the World do not enjoy. By donating 50p for each jug of water ordered with their meals, Baskerville customers are helping the World's poorest people gain access to a lasting supply of clean drinking water.
